Meet Our Mentors

Tom Bowen: The Pioneer of Bowen Therapy
Thomas Ambrose Bowen (1916-1982) was an Australian innovator who developed the Bowen Technique in the 1950s to alleviate human suffering. Operating from his Geelong clinic, he performed approximately 13,000 treatments annually, often for free, particularly for children and individuals with disabilities. Bowen’s unique manual therapy, which he called a “Gift from God,” gained widespread recognition despite his lack of formal training. After his passing in 1982, his legacy continued through dedicated students who established the Bowen Therapy Academy, ensuring the technique’s global reach and effectiveness in treating various conditions.
